Wind turbine

Wind power generation is rapidly spreading around the world as a clean energy that does not generate carbon dioxide, which causes a greenhouse effect.

Large wind turbines are huge machines. Most of the 2mw wind turbines under construction have blades about 40 meters long, rotating shafts 60 to 100 meters high and a total weight of no more than 200 tons. As a result, large bearings of 100 to 700 mm are required for wind turbines, and some models require bearings of up to two meters. NSK is one of only six manufacturers in the world that provides a stable supply of such large bearings to the market. As the wind turbine industry is now growing on a global scale, it is important not only to manufacture bearings but also to conduct marketing activities and technical services at key locations around the world.

Wind power bearing is a special type of bearing that requires poor operating environment, high maintenance cost, and long service life.

The main characteristics are:

It's in a very bad environment.
High maintenance costs.
You have to have a long life.

Generally, only part of the roller that rotates the bearing is subjected to load at the same time. The part where this roller is located is called the bearing area of the bearing. The size of the charge received by the bearing and the size of the Lancelot affect the carrier zone. A narrow loading area makes the rollers slippery during actual operation. In the case of a wind power gearbox, if the spindle design supports a double bearing, theoretically only torque is transmitted to the gearbox. In this case, a simple load analysis showed that the load applied to the bearing was small, the bearing loading area was small, and the roller was slippery.

In the design of wind power gearboxes, planetary support bearings generally employ two single column or two full roller cylindrical bearings.

To improve the bearing area, the cone roller bearing can be properly precompact and the column roller bearing slot can be reduced.
