On August 2, we received good news from a major customer: the main shaft bearings supplied by Luoyang Bearing Group (Luoxiang) for the country's first large-scale application of 16 MW offshore wind turbines performed well in the first super typhoon "Gemei" in 2024. The typhoon reached a maximum wind of 17, with wind speeds of up to 48 meters per second, but these wind turbines still maintained stable and safe operation, successfully withstanding the extreme weather event.
On June 27, all the 16 MW offshore wind turbines using the 16 MW main shaft bearings in China's first large-scale application achieved grid-connected power generation in the Liuao Offshore Wind Farm Phase II project in Zhangpu, Fujian. The wind power project adopts the mass-produced GWH252-16MW model, which has been awarded the title of "The Weight of Ten major countries" by SASAC. In the first month of operation, the first super typhoon "Gamay" in 2024 hit, the maximum wind of the typhoon center reached 17, the wind speed of about 48 meters/second, such wind speed is enough to generate the kinetic energy of throwing 20-ton oil tanks to more than 80 meters high, and cause waves more than 5 meters high. In this extreme weather condition, the main shaft bearing of the Luoshaft, with its excellent quality, ensured that the wind turbine maintained safe and trouble-free operation throughout the entire process, and successfully met the challenges of the super typhoon.
It is worth noting that at the end of July 2023, the main shaft bearings provided by Luoxiang were impacted by super Typhoon "Du Suri" only 10 days after being connected to the grid, and successfully passed this "additional test". This time, it once again successfully passed the test of "Gemei" typhoon, further verifying the reliability of high-power wind power spindle bearings.
